thank you for putting up a tutorial that actually demonstrates the woes of vector art..
all the other ones i've seen are 'easy vectoring' whatnots and that's fine if you want, well, artwork that looks like it was easy to create.

Very useful indeed. I usually make cartoon pictures with Adobe Illustrator CS but that is really interesting.

so it took you 6 hours to vector some girl dude thats too long so that means you dont have that much experience and also you dont need to have so many anchors using the pen tool and the way you did it if you look really good it has jagged points and isnt really the greatest (i just started wanting to do vectors like last week since i am done with school 4 now and i made a vector of this friend of mine took me less than an hour (i didnt upload it on here) but took me about 45 minutes to make and it looks pretty good specially with all the shading stuff and the image that u vectored with the girl took 6 hours??? and no shading on the skin or shadows on the neck and shoulder so i think you gotta practice more before you make a tutorial

You can make a vector on different ways... this way shows only the base of it. This piece is a pentool only (and you can use the pentool also different ways). Other people give it a better shading with brushes/gradients/or we but then it isn't a real vector, it's a vexel that way
When I made the piece with the girl, it was my first vector ever that's why it took me so long. On request of friends on a forum I made a tut out of it. They didn't know where to start, now they do ^^
